Job Description:


Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Programs available July 1, 2021. Tenure track or non-tenure track position with academic rank to be determined based on experience and qualifications.  Graduate nursing programs include Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with specialty tracks for Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gero Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Clinical Leadership in Practice.


Regular, eleven-month academic appointment with responsibilities divided between graduate program administration and leadership, teaching, and scholarship.  The Associate Dean will:

  • Actively engage in curriculum and program development.
  • Coordinate program evaluations and accreditation reporting.
  • Coach and mentor faculty at all levels.
  • Recruit community partners and clinical sites for DNP students.
  • Collaborate with community practice partners to meet clinical practicum needs for students and faculty.
  • Uphold our commitment to Christian values and seek to partner with the community to develop graduates who demonstrate competence in a diverse and changing healthcare environment.
  • Ensure creative classroom and clinical teaching informed by evidence-based practice.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and collaborative active learning to ensure engaged advising /mentoring of students in coursework and professional endeavors.
  • Participate in faculty governance.


Earned doctorate in Nursing or closely related discipline from an accredited university.  Successful candidates will demonstrate a record of successful leadership experience; commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional standards; excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills; and effective collaboration with faculty and community practice partners.  Experience in advanced practice nursing, program development and evaluation is desirable.

Must be licensed or have eligibility to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.

About the School of Health Sciences: 

The School of Health Sciences offers an undergraduate major in Health and Human Performance (HHP), an undergraduate major in nursing leading to a BSN, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP). The 332-student upper-division and undergraduate program is respected for its quality education. Graduate programs in nursing include advanced practice (nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist). The program is highly regarded by the surrounding regional healthcare community. The School of Heath Sciences is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
