A Healthier Washington Starts with Nurses
Nursing should be at the forefront of the statewide Healthier Washington effort to develop a new approach to delivering and paying for health care – that’s the goal of the Leadership Washington Nursing Action Coalition. The Action Coalition is part of the national movement to build a Culture of Health: improve health, well-being, and equity. We have teamed up with the Washington State Health Care Authority and many other key groups to ensure that nurses contribute as key partners in the Healthier Washington Initiative, our state’s plan for transforming the health care system. We are engaged in the Accountable Communities of Health — regional multi-sector partnerships that are focusing on social determinants of health, clinical-community linkages, and whole-person care, to improve health.
