Nursing Educators

The Council on Nursing Education in WA State (CNEWS)

CNEWS is an organization comprised of administrative leadership from all nursing programs in the State of Washington. Its role is to promote communication among members and offer mentorship to new leaders, as well as to facilitate collaborative responses to the health needs of Washington State. The organization hosts two meetings each year in the fall (in Seattle) and the spring (in Spokane)

Mission Statement

CNEWS strengthens nursing education by promoting collaborative leadership, equity, and sustainable policies. We empower nurse administrators, faculty, and students through mentorship, partnerships, and innovative solutions to meet evolving challenges.

Vision Statement

CNEWS will be the recognized voice and driving force for transformative nursing education by leading with integrity, inclusivity, and influence at local, state, and national levels. We envision a future where nursing academic leaders are supported by robust organizational structures, equitable opportunities, and strategic alliances, ensuring access, excellence, and diversity in nursing education for all.
